The Fighting Illini women debut as the national leaders, and the men close out the top-10 rankings at No. 10. This is the first time in program history that either the Fighting Illini men or women have reached the No. 1 spot during the indoor season.  The women are led by two national No. 2 marks by juniors Darja Sopova in the triple jump  and Tori Thomas in the pole vault . (Champaign–jc)  –The Fighting Illini football program will host a year-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of Memorial Stadium's dedication, the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics  announced on Tuesday. Memorial Stadium's Dedication Game famously occurred against Michigan on October. 18, 1924, when Illini legend Red Grange gained national headlines after scoring four touchdowns in the first 12 minutes then later running for a fifth touchdown and throwing for a sixth to take down the previously-undefeated Wolverines.  Illinois is set to host Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 19, 100 years and one day from Grange's historic performance. The game will be marked as Memorial Stadium's "Rededication Game" with the 100th anniversary celebrations lasting throughout the year.  Season tickets are now on sale for the Memorial Stadium 100th Anniversary football season. After the 2023 FamILLy First campaign saw an increase of over 10,000 new season tickets sold, the DIA looks to continue to grow the strong community atmosphere and gameday experience at Memorial Stadium.

He earns the award after averaging 29.0 points, 5.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 59.4% from the field, 66.7% from 3-point range, and 90% from the free-throw line for the Fighting Illini in matchups vs. Northwestern and at No. 1 Purdue.  Overall, Domask accounted for 49% of Illinois' offense during the week, combining for 58 points while assisting on an additional 27.The Illini wing posted the top scoring outing of any Big Ten player during the week, erupting for a game-high 32 points in Illinois' 96-66 victory over Northwestern last Tuesday at State Farm Center..In Friday's showdown at top-ranked Purdue, Domask again earned game-high scoring honors with 26 points, making 8-of-17 from the field, and tying season highs for the second straight game with 9-of-10 free throws. (Undated–jc)  Former Illini All-American Devon Witherspoon was selected to the Pro Bowl, the NFL announced this week. Witherspoon is the first player since Dick Butkus to finish his Illini career then earn a spot in the Pro Bowl as a rookie in the next season.  Witherspoon is one of the top candidates for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. His 16 passes defensed rank first among rookies and fifth league-wide, while his 68 tackles rank fifth among rookies and his 3.0 sacks rank 11th among rookies. Witherspoon joined J.C.
