La Russa has won 6 pennants in his time as a skipper with the Chicago White Sox, Oakland A’s, and St. Louis Cardinals which earned him a spot in Cooperstown in 2014. La Russa first started his managerial career on the South Side in 1979 and retired in 2011.
(Urbana-cf)-- The Fighting Illini Basketball team now knows who their opponent will be for the Big/Ten ACC Challenge. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported that Illinois will take on Duke at Cameron Indoor. This is the first time that the Illini have played at Cameron since 1995, Illinois won that game.
