(Undated-jm) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 3,005 new Coronavirus cases and 20 additional deaths. The seven day positivity rate rose to 3.4 percent. Champaign County reported 72 new cases. Vermilion County reported 77 new cases. Ford and Iroquois Counties did not have a report Tuesday.

(Champaign-jm) -- Champaign Police were dispatched to the Texas Roadhouse on Country Fair Drive around 9:30 p.m. Monday in response to reported shots fired. After an investigation, police officers said there was a domestic dispute that began inside the restaurant. The dispute carried over outdoors to the parking lot where shots were fired.

(Urbana-jm) -- A man sentenced to 60 months’ imprisonment for receipt and possession of child pornography. According to officials, Neal A. Evans, 51, previously of Piatt County and now of rural Ogden, Illinois, was sentenced yesterday. Evans pleaded guilty to attempted receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography, back in July 2021.

(Champaign County-jm) -- The Champaign County Coroner has identified the male driver involved in a single motor vehicle crash on Sunday morning.  According to officials, on November 14, Ezekiel Short III, 39, of Villa Grove, was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Officials say Short was traveling on Homer Lake Rd. near Ogden, IL when the crash occurred.  Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup pronounced Short dead on scene, and preliminary autopsy results indicate Short died from blunt force injuries he received when he was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
