(Undated-jm) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 2,913 new and probable COVID-19 cases and 39 additional deaths. The seven day positivity rate has fallen to 2.6 percent. Champaign County is reporting 54 new cases and 2 additional deaths. Vermilion County reported 34 new cases and 3 additional deaths. Ford and Iroquois Counties did not have a report Wednesday.
(Bloomington-jm) -- Ferrero is bringing its first-ever production center in the United States to central Illinois. The confectionery company Ferrero Group broke ground on its new chocolate processing facility in Bloomington. The new production center will mean a $75 million investment in the city and will bring up to 50 new jobs.

(Ludlow-jm) -- A Ludlow man has been sentenced to 3 years probation for drug possession. Hunter Whitson pleaded guilty in Champaign County court to possession with intent to deliver meth. Whitson also pleaded guilty to DUI drugs and reckless driving in a separate incident that occurred in December.
