Illinois Governor J-B Pritzker. 61 point 2 percent of Illinoisans age 12 and older are now fully vaccinated. Locally Friday, Vermilion County reported 98 new cases and 1 additional death. Champaign County reported 37 new cases. Ford County reported 43 new cases and 2 additional deaths. Iroquois County did not have a report Friday.

 

 

(Champaign-jm) -- Champaign Police have arrested a Centennial High School student who reportedly displayed a gun inside the school. Police say Pereze Collier reportedly got into a verbal fight with other students on September 8th. Collier was taken to the Champaign County Jail on charges of making a threat to a school building or person. Bond was set at $500,000.

(Rantoul-jm) -- A Rantoul man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling cocaine. Darryl Nelson received the sentence in Champaign County court after pleading guilty to possession with intent to deliver. A search of his home in 2019 uncovered 1.5 pounds of cocaine. A second charge of possession with intent to deliver was dismissed.
