(URbana--jc)  --  A 20 year veteran of the Champaign County police department was named as interim Champaign Police Chief on Thursday. Matt Henson will serve in the position. Current chief Anthony Cobb will retire as of August 5th. Local leaders are beginning the process to replace Cobb.

 

 

(Paxton-jm) -- The Paxton Park District has two new members. Craig Kief and Nick Williamson were recently sworn in to replace Bobby Kinnaird and Brad Ecker who both resigned.

(Champaign-jm) -- A Sibley man is facing assault and weapons charges. Police say Jason Joslin allegedly pointed a gun at customers and employees at Meijer on North Prospect Avenue in Champaign. Joslin is due back in court August 9th. Bond was set at $250,000.

(Ford County-jm) -- Ford County has a new caseworker when it comes to the Workforce Development Program. The new caseworker will cover both Ford and Iroquois Counties and will come from Watseka. The former caseworker was reassigned to Piatt and Douglas Counties.
