Illinois Governor J-B Pritzker. The state will check the vaccine rolls a week prior to see who is eligible and a grand finale drawing will be held August 26th. More than 72 percent of Illinois adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 57 percent are now fully vaccinated.

But, if you get a letter from the Secretary of State’s office saying you don’t have insurance but you actually do, you’ll need to contact your agent to get that verified.

 

 

(Thomasboro-jm) -- Two people were taken to the hospital following an accident near Thomasboro Saturday afternoon. State police say both vehicles were traveling south on Route 45 just after 1pm, when one vehicle swerved to miss the other. The vehicles collided and ended up in the median. The driver of the vehicle that struck the other vehicle was cited for aggravated DUI, driving while license revoked, failure to reduce speed and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

(Rantoul-jm) -- Police have arrested one of two suspects in the drive-by shooting in which two young girls were shot and three men grazed by bullets on July 4th. 18 year old Teigan Hunt was arrested. Police are also looking for a 16 year old. Bond was set at 1 million dollars.

(Undated-jm) -- The Illinois Department of Transportation is announcing construction on Route 9 from the Ford/Vermilion County line to Route 1 in Hoopeston will begin today. The project involves pavement patching and resurfacing and intermittent lane closures will be required. Work is expected to be completed in late November.

(Springfield-jm) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health is adopting school COVID-19 prevention guidance put out by the CDC. Under the guidance, teachers and students who are fully vaccinated do not have to wear a mask, but it’s recommended that those who aren’t continue wearing a mask indoors. Governor J-B Pritzker says he’s pleased the information has been put out…

(Paxton-jm) -- Paxton firefighters were called to an oven fire Sunday morning. Crews were called to the fire in the 600 block of East Pells Street just before 11 am. No injuries were reported.


(Piper City-jm) -- The Ford County Public Health Department is teaming up with the Illinois National Guard to do a COVID vaccine clinic in Piper City. The Pfizer vaccine clinic will be held at Piper City Junior High from 8 to 2:30 on July 15th. Those to get a vaccine on the 15th will be eligible to win tickets to Six Flags.
