The National Weather Service confirmed at least three tornadoes touched down in the area over the weekend

(Springfield-jm) -- Businesses with 100 or more employees will be required to provide the Illinois Department of Labor with details about its workers and their pay beginning in 2022. The law was an initiative of the Illinois Legislative Black Caucus and was originally passed as part of the Equity Pillar legislation in January 2021. The move comes following Governor JB Pritzker’s signature of Senate Bill 1847.

 

 

(Rantoul-jm) -- Three people were hurt following a shooting in Rantoul last night. Police were called to South Pointe Drive near Marco Drive around 8 pm. Police say the three suffered non life threatening injuries. Anyone with information is asked to call Rantoul police.

 

 

(Urbana-jm) -- Crews were called to an explosion on the University of Illinois campus last night. Emergency personnel were called to the Hendrick House at the corner of Lincoln and Green Street. No injuries were reported. Officials believe it was a boiler that caused the explosion.

(Undated-jm) -- Looking at local COVID numbers, Ford County reported 2 new cases. Champaign County 12 new cases. Iroquois County 15 new cases and 1 additional death.

(Springfield-jm) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health is now reporting 85 teens and adult staff at a summer youth camp held in mid-June in central Illinois tested positive for COVID-19.  One unvaccinated, young adult was hospitalized. IDPH says the outbreaks occurred in Schuyler and Adams counties.

(Undated-jm) -- The National Weather Service confirmed at least three tornadoes touched down in the area over the weekend. The strongest was an EF-1 with winds estimated near 95 mph that hit Danforth. An EF-0 with winds of 85 mph was confirmed in Chatsworth. The weather service also confirmed a tornado between Mahomet and Dewey.
