(Undated-jm) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 7,569 new Coronavirus cases Wednesday and 139 additional deaths bringing the state’s total number of cases to 999,288 and deaths to 17,096. Locally, McLean County reported 72 new cases and 3 additional deaths bringing their total number of cases to 12,089 and deaths to 116. Ford County reported 19 new cases bringing their total to 1,309. Livingston County reported 25 new cases and 1 additional death bringing their total number of cases to 3,272 and deaths to 58. Iroquois County reported 26 new cases bringing their total to 2,443. Vermilion County reported 93 new cases and 1 additional death bringing their total number of cases to 6,314 and deaths to 80. Kankakee County reported 83 new cases bringing their total number of cases to 11,053. The state is expected to hit 1 million cases today becoming the 4th state to reach such milestone.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 7,569 new cases and 139 additional deaths bringing the state’s total number of cases to 999,288 and deaths to 17,096. As for local active and recovered cases, McLean County reported 10,960 have recovered, 974 are in isolation and 39 are hospitalized. Champaign County reported 13,422 have recovered, 715 are in isolation and 19 are hospitalized. Livingston County reported 3,077 have been removed from isolation and 138 cases are active. Iroquois County reported 2,260 have been released from isolation, 124 are in isolation and 7 are hospitalized. Vermilion County reported 607 active cases and 41 hospitalized. Kankakee County reported 8,821 have recovered and 2,077 cases are active.

 

 

(Springfield-jm) -- Attorney General Kwame Raoul is warning the public about COVID-19 vaccine scams. COVID scams aren’t new, but the approval of a vaccination is now giving con artists more opportunities to fleece consumers says Attorney General Raoul. He says you should ignore emails, texts and calls offering to put you on a list to get the vaccine or asking for your personal information to sign you up for a shot…

DeShawn Williams was elected in November but announced Wednesday he is resigning to become chief deputy treasurer under new county treasurer Cassandra Johnson. His term runs through November 30, 2022.
