(Milford–jc) The Paxton Park District Girls Pirates Swim team won a meet over the Dolphins of Milford last night at the Milford Community Pool. The Lady Pirates scored 144 points to Milford's 114. Milford won the boys meet over the Paxton Pirates 207 to 33.
CHAMPAIGN Ill. – The University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Wednesday that basketball consensus All-American Keaton Wagler and track & field national champion Sophia Beckmon are winners of the 2025-26 Dike Eddleman Award, presented annually to the top Fighting Illini male and female athlete. The recipients were selected by vote of Illinois head coaches and DIA executive staff.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Senior Illinois football student-athletes Matthew Bailey, Juice Clarke, and Katin Houser will head to Chicago next month to represent the Fighting Illini program at Big Ten Media Days. The event runs July 28-30, with Illinois' players and head coach Bret Bielema kicking off Media Days on Day 1 at the Hilton Chicago.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Big Ten released the conference schedule for the 2027 baseball season on Wednesday. The Fighting Illini will face 10 total conference opponents during Big Ten play, with five weekend series set to take place at Illinois Field. Illinois will host Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Washington during the 2027 campaign while taking on Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, and UCLA away from home. The Illini begin Big Ten competition with a road series at Nebraska from March 12-14 before playing Ohio State and Iowa at home over back-to-back weekends from March 19-21 and March 26-28, respectively.
