CHAMPAIGN, Ill.– Illinois guard Keaton Wagler  is Big Ten Player of the Week and Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

This is the latest in several awards for the true-freshman point guard following his sensational, record-setting 46 points in Saturday's win at No. 4 Purdue.

Wagler has also been selected Player of the Week by the Naismith Trophy, Lute Olson Award, Field of 68, and NCAA March Madness. 

Wagler Highlights …

• Averaged 29.5 points, 6.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds in a pair of wins as Illinois extended its winning streak to nine straight games.

• Had one of the greatest scoring performances in college basketball history and the best by a freshman this season with 46 points on 13-17 FG, 9-11 3FG, 11-13 FT in the win at No. 4 Purdue:

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Fighting Illini rookie Cearah Parchment turned in a career day in Illinois' near comeback on the road at No. 24 Nebraska on Saturday. For her performance, the Big Ten office announced her as Co-Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon.  On Saturday, Parchment recorded a career-high 25 points along with 11 rebounds  for her sixth double-double of the season.  Parchment and the Illinois squad are back in action on Wednesday when #2 UCLA comes to town for a 6 p.m. tip at the State Farm Center
