(Champaign–jc) - The prestigious Butkus Award ceremony will be held at Gies Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of Illinois on January 31st. This is the second straight year for the ceremony in Champaign. The Butkus Award is presented annually to the nation’s best linebacker at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels and was established in honor of Butkus, an Illinois native and two-time All-American linebacker at the University of Illinois.
