(Atwood–jc) Congratulations to the Rantoul Eagles girls basketball team. They won the Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond Holiday Tournament last night. The Lady Eagles beat the host Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond Lady Knights 49 to 33. Congrats to coach Wes Cox and the Eagles.
(Undated-jm) – Arizona remains the top team in the country in the latest college basketball poll. Michigan is #2 followed by Iowa State, UConn and Purdue round out the top 5. Other Big Ten teams ranked include Michigan State at #9, Nebraska at #13, Illinois at #20, USC at #24 and Iowa at #25. On the women’s side of the basketball, UConn remains the #1 ranked team followed by Texas, South Carolina, UCLA and LSU round out the top 5.
