(Undated-jm) – Purdue is number 1 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25 college basketball poll for the first time. The Boilermakers earned 35 of 61 first-place votes to top Monday's poll to begin the 2025-26 season. NCAA title runner-up Houston is number 2 and reigning champion Florida is number 3. UConn is number 4 and St. John’s is number 5. Michigan is ranked number 7, UCLA number 12, Illinois 17th, Michigan State 22nd and Wisconsin is 24th.
KETTERING, Ohio. – The No. 8-ranked Fighting Illini men’s golf team opened play at the Moraine Intercollegiate on Monday with a combined team score of 15-under through 36 holes at Moraine Country Club. The Orange and Blue are tied for third in the team race with Big Ten foe Penn State, six shots behind Missouri with 18 holes remaining. Xavier (-17) is alone in second place.
