All- Star Game

The National League and American League played to a 6-6 tie. The National League was declared the winner after a home run swing off. Philadelphia DH Kyle Schwarber connected on all 3 of his swings and was named MVP for his efforts. 

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Director of Illinois track, field and cross country Petros Kyprianou has announced the hiring of Olympian Garrett Scantling as an assistant coach on Tuesday . Scantling will primarily assist Kyprianou with coaching the jumps and combined events crews. Scantling finished fourth in the decathlon at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games 

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – University of Illinois senior linebacker Kenenna Odeluga and Fighting Illini football head coach Bret Bielema are among the nominees announced by the American Football Coaches Association  for recognition on the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. Nominees are determined based on their exemplary record of community service and impact on and off the field. Student-athletes must also show a strong academic dedication.
