CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Illinois baseball returns to Illinois Field for a midweek contest vs. in-state rival Illinois State on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT. The Fighting Illini will be playing eight of their next nine ball games in Champaign. The Orange and Blue claimed their first Big Ten series win of the season over the weekend thanks to Friday's doubleheader sweep over Michigan State at McLane Stadium. Illinois used big innings late in each game of the twinbill to earn its first doubleheader sweep of the season. The Illini have started the season 5-1 at home, which includes a 3-0 record in midweek action.
