Baseball Hall of Fame 3rd baseman Brooks Robinson has died. Robinson played his entire 23 year career with the Baltimore Orioles. He helped them win the World Series in 1966 and 1970. He was an 18 time All Star and 16 time Gold Glover. He was 86 years old.
(Undated-jm) – The IHSA released sub-sectional assignments for volleyball on uesday. In class 1A in the Streator Woodland sub-sectional B, the regional hosts will be Dwight and Lexington. Other teams in sub-sectional B include Bloomington Cornerstone Christian Academy, Cissna Park, Colfax Ridgeview, Tri-Point, Donovan, Flanagan Cornell, GCMS, Kankakee Grace Academy, Milford, Normal Calvary Christian Academy and Streator Woodland. In the Windsor Sectional, sub-sectional B Salt Fork and LeRoy are the regional hosts, other teams include Argenta Oreana, Armstrong, Heritage, Champaign Judah Christian, Danville Schlarman, DeLand Weldon, Blue Ridge, Fisher, Georgetown Ridge Farm, Heyworth, Urbana University High and Villa Grove. In Class 2A, in the St. Joseph Sectional, sub-sectional A the regional hosts are Clinton and Tolono Unity, other teams in sub-sectional A are Bloomington Central Catholic, Champaign St. Thomas More, Tri-Valley, Prairie Central, Deer Creek Mackinaw, Macon Meridian, Maroa-Forsyth, Monticello, Stanford Olympia and Warrensburg Latham. In sub-sectional B, the regional hosts are Watseka and Westville, other teams in sub-sectional B include ALAH, Bismarck Henning Rossville Alvin, Oakwood, Iroquois West, Hoopeston Area, Paris, PBL, St. Joseph Ogden and Sullivan. In Class 3A, Springfield Southeast Sectional, sub-sectional B, Champaign Central and Normal University are the regional hosts, other schools in the sub-sectional are Bloomington, Champaign Centennial, Danville, Lincoln, Mahomet Seymour, Rantoul and Urbana.
