(Champaign–jc)  –The Illinois and Kansas men's basketball programs will partner in a charity exhibition game, set for 5 p.m. on Oct. 29 at State Farm Center and televised by BTN. All proceeds raised from this game will be donated to the Hawai'i Community Foundation Maui Strong Fund, providing financial resources to the relief efforts from the devastating Maui wildfires.

(Champaign–jc)  –  Illinois head coach Bret Bielema named Luke Altmyer the Fighting Illini's starting quarterback, Bielema announced at his press conference Monday. Altmyer will take over at quarterback when Illinois opens the 2023 season on Sept. 2 against Toledo at Memorial Stadium. Altmyer transferred to Illinois in January after two seasons at Ole Miss. He played in five games at Mississippi and transferred to the Illini with three years of eligibility remaining. . 24-7 Sports ranked him as the Number 10 transfer quarterback in the nation heading into 2023
