Ross Chastain held off Martin Truex Jr. and won the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway for his third career NASCAR victory. Chastain entered fourth in the season in points and led a race high 100 laps. Denny Hamlin finished 3rd followed by Chase Elliot and Kyle Larson.
(Paxton–jc) Over 80 football players from the Paxton area attended a skills session with players from the University of Illinois on Sunday at I-57 stadium. The event was sponsored by the Paxton Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization. The group is currently getting ready for its upcoming season. The first week of the season is set for August 12th.
