Cubs lose, Cards and Sox win

Royal and Paxton will play a best of 3 series this weekend

 

E. I. Awards were announced yesterday.

The Ralph Loschen Award, which is awarded to the most outstanding player, went to Drake Schrodt of the Buckley Dutchmasters.

 

The Virgil Scheiwe Award, which goes to the most outstanding pitcher, went to Adam Carver of the Paxton Swedes.

 

The Dick Franzen Award which is awarded to the Batting Champion went to Colton Carr of the Royal Giants. It should be noted that Luis Rodriquez of the Buckley Dutchmasters had the highest batting average on the year, but fell short of the plate appearances required by league rules to qualify for the award. 

 

The E. I. Regular season Champions were the Royal Giants.

(Chicago-cf)-- The Chicago Blackhawks have found their next goaltender. The Chicago Blackhawks announced that Marc Andre-Fluerry will sign a contract for the 21-22 season. Fleury has one year left on his current deal worth $7 million. 

 

(WPXN-cf)-- It took all but two games for former Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo to join Joe DiMaggio in Yankees history. Rizzo homered in his first two games as a Yankee with more than 5 runs scored and 2 RBI’s in his first two games with the organization.

 

(WPXN-cf)-- Taking a look at the MLB Standings: The Chicago Cubs trail the Milwaukee Brewers by 12.5 games, meanwhile the St. Louis Cardinals trail by 9.5. The Chicago White Sox have a 9 game lead in the AL Central over Cleveland. The South Siders have the 7th best record in the MLB entering this week. 

 

 

(Urbana-cf)-- Outside of Ayo Dosunmu, the Fighting Illini basketball program has little to no luck recruiting the city of Chicago. Head Coach Brad Underwood hired Tim Anderson as his third assistant who has deep ties in Chicago. Underwood says it was one of the reasons to bring Tim on, but not the main factor…
