(WPXN-cf)-- Taking a look at the MLB Standings after the first weekend back from the All-Star Break. The Chicago Cubs(46-46) sit in third place of the NL Central. The Cubs are 8.5 games back from the division leading Milwaukee Brewers who are 56-39 on the season. The Cardinals(46-47) are 9.0 back. The Chicago White Sox(56-36) hold an 8 game lead over Cleveland. 


(Chicago-cf)-- For the first time in 14 seasons, the Chicago White Sox signed a player to an extension mid-season. The White Sox and pitcher Lance Lynn signed a two year extension Saturday afternoon. 


(New Hampshire-cf)-- With a stunning victory in Sunday’s Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Aric Almirola sent shock waves through the NASCAR Cup Series’ Playoff standings. Almirola crossed the finish line half a second ahead of Christopher Bell to win the third race of his career and give Stewart-Haas Racing its first playoff berth of the 2021 campaign. Almirola entered Sunday’s event 27th in the Cup standings. 


(Urbana-cf)-- Fighting Illini Big Man Kofi Cockburn announced Friday, that he will return to Illinois for his Junior season. Cockburn withdrew from the NBA Draft June 26th, and entered the transfer portal. Head Coach Brad Underwood stated “We are beyond thrilled to have Kofi remain a Fighting Illini and add the nation's top player to our lineup.” 


(St. Louis-cf)-- The St.Louis Cardinals entered the All-Star Break splitting the series with the Chicago Cubs, and opened the second half of the season with a split against the Giants. Manager Mike Schildt says that you want to win them all, but you have to be competitive…
