Fighting Illini Junior Guard Ayo Dosunmu has been named to the Bob Cousy Award Watchlist

(Undated-jm) -- St. Thomas More and Danville Schlarman are the first area programs to announce they are not participating in IHSA sports. The Diocese of Peoria made the announcement yesterday all of their schools will not participate because of the COVID pandemic.

 

(Urbana-cf)-- Fighting Illini Junior Guard Ayo Dosunmu has been named to the Bob Cousy Award Watchlist. The Bob Cousy award is given to the best point guard in the NCAA. The last Illini to win the Bob Cousy award was Dee Brown in 2006.

 

(Urbana-cf)-- Fighting Illini QB Brandon Peters and Center Doug Kramer both missed the Purdue game this past Saturday due to COVID-19. In the latest update from Head Coach Lovie Smith, two more Illini players and 1 staff member have tested positive for the coronavirus. Their condition is unknown at this time. 

 

(WPXN-cf)--The MLB Award Finalists have been named. The Chicago White Sox had one finalist for Rookie of the year in Luis Robert. The Cubs and White Sox both have manager of the year candidates in David Ross and Rick Renteria. The White Sox have a MVP Canidate in Jose Abreu, and the Cubs have a Cy-Young finalist in Yu Darvish. There were no-award finalists for the St. Louis Cardinals. The respective dates for the winners are set for November 10 and 11.
