Illini vs Old Dominion Pregame UPDATED----
The Illini are just over an hour and a half from tip for their second home game in a row. Just to give some probable starters that are updated for both teams(since I went over the Monarchs stats last night) and key’s to the game. I’ll link last night’s post at the bottom of this blog for easier access to the pregame I wrote last night. I found some notable Alumni from ODU that I did not know about, at least in the sports world. Justin Verlander graduated from ODU in 2004, Verlander is a Cy Young winner and a World Series Champion with the Houston Astros. Kent Bazemore graduated from ODU in 2012 and he is now a PG for the Portland Trail Blazers.
More information on the Monarchs:
As I highlighted last night, Xavier Green has lead the team in scoring 8 of their 10 games. Malik Curry has lead the team in assists 8/10 games, and Dajour Dickens has led the team in blocks 7 out of 10 games.
Probable starters for the Monarchs:
Xavier Green
Aaron Carver
Malik Curry
Jason Wade
Dajour Dickens
Illini Probables:
Ayo
Trent
Da’Monte
Giorgi
Kofi
Keys to the game:
-Once again play two halves of basketball, just like you did to knock off Michigan.
-Feed Ayo/Kofi- Kofi is coming off a monster game against the Wolverines and it gets the Illini rolling when he gets early touches. This should be another takeover game for Ayo, I would like to guess that he can score at least 20 in this one especially with the NBA style moves that he made to get to the rim against Michigan.
-If Trent sinks a few early keep feeding him. As soon as I got to State Farm Center, he was the first one out on the court getting shots up, and I think he only missed 10 out of 150.
