HALFTIME UPDATE------

 

The Illini have played a very good first half of basketball against a high scoring Michigan squad. The Illini have lacked severely in transition defense. But have held the Wolverines to only 28 points. All 26 of the Illini’s 30 have been inside the paint. Kofi is making his case for yet another Big Ten Freshman of the week award. Ayo has looked like himself being aggressive in making strong NBA, style moves to the rim and creating opportunities while scoring 4. Trent has been hit two 15 footers for the only 4 points not scored inside. Feliz is putting guys in the blender, going coast to coast, and providing that scoring spark the Illini needed off of the bench. The Illini have limited the amount of turnovers so far, and only committed 3 fouls in the first half. IF and that’s a big IF they can keep this up, this is a very winnable game. But, we have seen this song and dance before last Saturday at College Park leading 39 minutes of that game.
