Illinois Volleyball's Ali Bastianelli Has Been Nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award

(Undated--jc)  The 20-19 I-H-S-A football schedules have been released. Among the first week matchups on Friday August 30th includes the Panthers of Paxton Buckley Loda in a battle with Ford County foe and 2-time State Champion Gibson City Melvin Sibley in Gibson City. The Rantoul Eagles are on the road in week one at Prairie Central in Fairbury. It’s the battle of the Saints schools in week one as St Joe Odgen is at home against St Thomas More. Milford-Cissna Park, fresh off their State Championship are home against Lake Forest Academy in Milford. Iroquois West is home against Bismark Henning in Gilman.


 

(Urbana--jc)  -- Illinois volleyball's Ali Bastianelli has been nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year award, the organization announced on Wednesday.  

Established in 1991, the NCAA Woman of the Year award recognizes graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service and leadership throughout their collegiate careers. Bastianelli is one of a record 585 female college athletes that have been nominated by NCAA member schools for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year award. The nominees competed in 23 different sports across all three NCAA divisions, including 262 from Division I, 131 from Division II and 192 from Division III. Multisport student-athletes account for 144 of the nominees.
