(Paxton-jm) -- Ford County will have a new coroner this week. Doug Wallace’s last day as county coroner is Wednesday and Rick Flessner will officially take over on Thursday. Wallace has served as coroner for the past 17 years.

 

 

(Washington-jm) -- The crop insurance industry and a USDA agency will work in tandem to provide to producers new insurance options through a new Farm Bill. Rod Bain reports…

 

 

(Springfield-jm) -- Attorney General Lisa Madigan and the attorneys general of 12 other states are calling on Congress reject what they call deep and damaging cuts in funding to the Environmental Protection Agency. The Trump Administration is calling for a $2.4 billion cut in funding from the next federal budget. The House spending plan cuts $650 million while the Senate cuts $150 million. The attorneys general and environmental groups argue the cuts would lead to more pollution and an increase in threats to public health.

(Undated-jm) -- If you’re needing to renew your driver’s license or maybe you forgot to get that sticker for your car, you don’t have to wait much longer to visit the state’s drivers services facilities. Facilities that are open Monday through Friday were closed yesterday while facilities that are open Tuesday through Saturday were closed Saturday. Facilities will open at their normal time today.
