(Springfield-jm) -- State officials are unveiling a comprehensive plan for combatting the opioid crisis in Illinois. The problem has become America’s deadliest drug crisis, and the goal of the new plan is to reduce opioid related deaths in Illinois by 33 percent in three years. State Public Health Director Dr. Nirav Shah says opioid overdoses have killed nearly 11-thousand people in Illinois since 2008…

(Ford County-jm) -- The Ford County Sheriff’s office released their August activity report. During the month deputies handled 6 traffic accident and issued 108 traffic citations including 50 for speeding, 10 for driving with a suspended or revoked drivers license, 8 for operating an uninsured motor vehicle among others. Deputies also handled 5 reports of theft, 4 reports of criminal damage to property, 2 violations of a court order, 1 each of vehicle theft, child abuse and intent to deliver and more.
